read all about it.. The Church of Craft has a new website!!!  This has been in the making for a long time and finally it has gone live!  Thank you so much to Rev. Callie (New York Chapter, Randy and Cris (webmasters) for all your hard work and patience with the rest.  Please take some time to check it out...

also the Phoenix Chapter site (as well and the group site) is for you the Flock Members... so if you have a website,blog or other crafty outlet that you would like me to post on the Phoenix Chapter site please drop me a line.  This includes personal work as well as just something you have come across that you would like to share with the Church community...

A new home...

Thank you to all the flock members that came to the meeting on the 14th...  It was a huge success!  Thank you to Felipe and Modified for opening their doors to us, and as Felipe pointed out... this space is for everyone so come and make it yours.  The next meeting is on November 18th (tuesday) @ 7:30ish.  As of yet I don't have a special activity planned.. if anyone is interested in sharing their craft or a crafting technique, let me know..  Thank you again to all for your support.. and remember to craft on!!

Calling all Flock Members...

The next meeting of the Phoenix Church of Craft will be Tuesday October 14th @ 7:30pm at Modified Arts.  Modified (as we lovingly call it) is locate at 407 East Roosevelt in Phoenix. (that is on Roosevelt between 5th and 3rd ave)  We will be sharing the space with an "art night" that has already been established and Felipe (from Modified) as well as Kimber (Superhero of the local scene) have so graciously allowed us to combine our meeting with Modified Art Night so that we can have a great place to meet... 

This meeting please bring a t-shirt (more many), a canvas bag or any other item that can be silk screened on.. Rev. Meghan is bringing "Church of Craft" screens for all to use to make their own propaganda.  Along with that please feel free to bring your current project or one that you would like to start... and as always please feel free to bring a friend

If you are interested in learning how do do something please email me before the end of the week so that I can let others know that you are looking to learn, so they can be prepared to teach you. 

With this new home it is my hope that we can start to work towards our mission to promote community through craft... so welcome back and we hope to see you there on the 14th...

what's the deal...

ok I know it's been a long time... but we are working on getting a really cool meeting space and should have word in a few days on the availability.. when we have that set we will announce the new meeting place and the date and time...  thank you so much to all of you loyal flock members...  once again the Phoenix Chapter will take flight..  in th mean time please email me (Rev. M) to be added to the email list.

FYI.. The Church of Craft (Phoenix Chapter) meets every Second Sunday of the month, 2pm @ Copper Star Coffee.  (on the corner of 7th Ave and Heatherbrae).  We are looking for people who would like to teach the group their particular craft for interesting project that you might know so..  Email me if you are interested.  The following are the next 6 scheduled meetings...

One more week!!

One more week until the annual Indie Crafeteria...  This is a cool little (hopefully one day to be a big honkin') indie craft fair put on by Frances Vintage.  Come out and do some early Holiday shopping and support your local indie crafter..

Update...

Ok first off... The 1 Voice Billboard is up.  For those of you that aren't too sure what I am talking about, we were included on the billboard for the community center's gala as a sponsor, which means... The Phoenix Chapter of the Church of Craft has it's logo nice and big over the city of Phoenix!!! 

ok so not huge, but the name recognition has begun...

In other news..  I am working to find us a nice big (free) space that we can use for the meetings, so please bare with me while I work on that.  Some of the places I have checked out have a fee and I was thinking that maybe we could swap "classes" for space.  So if any one would be interested in participating in teaching a class to help the Church have a space please let me know.  I am thinking that the class would be once every month or every two months (meetings will still be at least once a month) and if a few of us volunteer we should be able to trade for the whole year.   Anyways I will give everyone a meeting schedule once we have that part figured out.

Other than that.. Please look for the article about the Church in tomorrow's (Saturday Sept 8th) Arizona Republic, the Craft My Ride Contest starts on Monday!!!  So check that out, and remember.. the Church of Craft welcomes everyone, if you are not participating in the community project that's ok we still want to see you, so please bring what you are working on so that we can chat.  Thanks to all...
